Last time I got my nails done was about 5 years ago and that was only because my boss at the time made me go with her. In all the chaos of preparing for the marathon, my logical (lol yeah right) brain thought it would be a good idea to get my nails done to match my special New York City Marathon themed Goodr sunglasses which are this pretty blue color.
Upon arriving to the nail salon, I immediately panicked when they started asking me things like "gel? color? how many? which one? you pick." WOAH WOAH WOAH wait a second. What is gel and why is everyone yelling?! Needless to say, my cluelessness paired with the language barrier made for quite the chaotic experience, but it calmed down after they made the decisions for me and I just had to sit down and be quiet. I think they were disappointed in me, but I can't blame them. I should have done my research like I usually do. I don't even drive somewhere new until I have excessively analyzed the parking situation, so I should have Googled "what you need to decide at the nail place". I don't think I'm cut out for the nail salon life, but I do feel fancy with my bright blue sparkly nails! If you're wondering, yes they did "gel", whatever that is.
